Winter Bailey

Winter Bailey is a proud Dene and Cree woman, born and raised in Akaitcho Territory in the Northwest Territories of Canada. She is a member of the Deninu Kųę́ First Nation (Treaty 8) and Peguis First Nation (Treaty 1). She is a daughter, wife and mother who lives and works on the ancestral territory of the Kanien’kehá:ka, Montreal. Winter has 17 years of experience in various roles within mining, building connections across the world and currently Principal Advisor, Communities & Social Performance at Rio Tinto. She helped shape the Women in Mining chapter in the Northwest Territories, a recipient of the Premier’s Award for Collaboration, a nominee for the WIM Indigenous Trailblazer Award and Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference alum.  She is an Indigenous artist and golf enthusiast.
