Matthew Stewart

Matthew Stewart is an experienced mining professional with over 20 years in the industry, specializing in mineral resources, capital projects, and underground operations.

He is currently serving as the Manager of Mineral Resources Global Project Development at Vale Base Metals, since October 2023. Prior to this, Matthew held various leadership roles at Vale, including Underground Area Manager and Chief Geologist for Projects in Base Metals, North Atlantic. With extensive expertise in operational readiness and project management, Matthew has consistently delivered results in challenging mining environments.

He began his career as a Project Geologist at Rubicon Minerals in 2003, further building his reputation as a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the technical and operational aspects of the mining industry.
