Carbon Offset
A collaborative partnership between Invert, The Earth Lab, and the local Ejido Felipe Carrillo Puerto, this community-focused, indigenous-led IFM project conserves and protects over 24k hectares of forest within Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula. By working to maintain forest cover and ecosystem connectivity while taking significant actions to reduce the degradation of natural habitats this project protects and prevents the extinction of threatened species on the IUCN Red List.
About The Project
This project also results in significant benefit to the Ejido Felipe Carrillo Puerto through the creation of jobs, investment in social initiatives, and a minimum of 10% of project income added to a community social trust for reinvestment into the local community.
