“Success is never an accident. It is the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort”. Paul J Meyer

At a time of great change and opportunity for the Canadian Mining Industry, the question of culture emerges as a common theme and opportunity for our industry. Leadership and Culture are frequently cited as the critical next step to reenergize our progress to Zero Harm / Zero fatalities. At the same time, we need to attract and retain a more diverse workforce to address our changing needs for innovative mining 4.0 solutions as well as building equitable community partnerships.

A challenge indeed if we approach every outcome as a separate entity. By building a culture where people come first in a safe, inclusive, engaging, and respectful work environment you can have it all.

An organization is only as strong as its work culture. Organizations today must prioritize the human element of their business, recognizing that innovation, productivity and efficiency come when employees are safe, engaged and connected to their coworkers.
