As Technical Program Co-Chair for CIM CONNECT 2025, Mélanie LaRoche-Boisvert plays a pivotal role in shaping the conference’s technical content.

With her deep expertise in open pit operations, LaRoche-Boisvert brings a highly focused perspective to the selection and organization of abstracts that will drive meaningful discussions at the event. Working with Co-Chair, Matthew Stewart, Global Manager in Mineral Resources at Vale Base Metals, LaRoche-Boisvert ensures that the technical sessions reflect the latest advancements, challenges, and opportunities in the mining sector. 

LaRoche-Boisvert is currently a Technical Services Specialist at ArcelorMittal, where she applies her extensive knowledge of mining engineering to optimize operations. She previously worked as a mining engineering consultant at DRA Global, further honing her expertise in project management and operational efficiency.  

LaRoche-Boisvert’s hands-on experience in the field, combined with her technical knowledge, makes her uniquely suited to help lead the technical program development for CIM CONNECT 2025. From evaluating abstract submissions to assembling them into impactful sessions, her involvement ensures a comprehensive and forward-looking program that tackles pressing issues such as sustainability, innovation, and the role of minerals in the global energy transition.

She serves on the CIM Awards Committee and has held leadership roles in organizations like Women in Mining Canada, where she was Vice Chair of the Board of Directors and is now an administrator. She was also an executive at Young Mining Professionals Toronto. Her dedication to fostering the next generation of mining professionals and promoting diversity in the industry is a core part of her mission.
