Are you ready for this edition of the CIM Convention?
At the heart of the CIM 2019 Convention was the idea that all mining professionals would be connected through Information, Intelligence, Impact, and Innovation. These watch-words certainly had their desired influence.
A WHOPPING 5,890 participants met in Montreal for what was celebrated as CIM's most vibrant Convention ever!
This was made possible by the dedication of our volunteers, speakers, staff and of course our CIM community. Let's carry the momentum forward and push the boundaries again next year during #CIMBC20.
Over 225 technical sessions, a record-breaking 1,413 delegates touched on every aspect of mining operations, from people to artificial intelligence. Presenters delivered the latest metrics and best practices through the lens of interdisciplinarity. This broke away from siloed streams ensured that everyone, from operators to executives, could take home insights that increased their skillset and knowledge of the industry as a whole.
545 delegates and 92 remote viewers attended Monday’s reinvented Opening Plenary. Tuesday’s Resources Matter Keynote Session saw 301 attendees. The Women in Mining Reception, the CIM Caterpillar Celebration of Excellence and other gatherings all left everyone feeling inspired by the words and actions of brilliant industry thought-leaders.
The EXPO, with its 475 booths and 2,200 visitors, was buzzing with activity and conversation from the moment the tradeshow opened. With virtual reality, nifty equipment simulators, working demos, and other innovations providing a hands-on approach, the reputation of the EXPO as Canada’s premier mining marketplace was reaffirmed. The Innovation Stage at the EXPO was a smashing success, with over 42 presentations delivering rapid-fire doses of knowledge to a highly receptive audience. Non-stop networking? You bet!
